Scroll on picture below to begin Worship Psalms 100:4-5 - Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Worship: Let your first step be thanksgiving. Don’t wait to feel thankful. Be thankful and praise God. This is his command. Remember Genesis 4:2-8 - Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Remember: Cain's refusal to worship God in the way that He desired led to murder. Notice the quick downward spiral - wrong worship leading to violent rebellion. Believe Luke 4:5-8 - The devil led him [Jesus] up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’’” Believe: The direction of our worship is of prime importance. Be aware of idolatry in all forms. Jesus directs us to worship God alone. Surrender Romans 1:21-23 - For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Surrender: The more you actively give thanks and glory to God the more you will know him. True worship leads you away from foolishness and into wisdom (submission to God).
