Worship Psalms 18:16-19 - He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. Worship: Think back to a time when God rescued you. Thank him for his strength and mercy. Remember Genesis 14:11-16 - The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food; then they went away. They also carried off Abram’s nephew Lot and his possessions, since he was living in Sodom. One who had escaped came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram. When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people. Remember: Notice the mercy of God on Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah. He used the unity of Abram's family (318 trained relatives) to rescue and restore the people of these cities. Believe Luke 19:9-10 - Jesus said to him [Zacchaeus], “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” Believe: Jesus came to rescue and restore all of us who are lost. He is still rescuing the sons of Abraham. Surrender 2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. Surrender: Yield to God’s patience in your life. Don’t test him or run from him. He desires to rescue you.
