Worship Psalms 105:42 - For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham. Worship: Praise God that he always remembers his promises… even words spoken long ago. We may forget, but he never forgets. Remember Genesis 12:14-20 - When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that she was a very beautiful woman. And when Pharaoh’s officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace. He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, menservants and maidservants, and camels. But the Lord inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abram’s wife Sarai. So Pharaoh summoned Abram. “What have you done to me?” he said. “Why didn’t you tell me she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!” Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had. Remember: The promise of God (all nations being blessed through the line of Abram and Sarai) was under attack. Even Abram took part in potentially sabotaging the promise. God keeps his promise. God protects his promise (even when we go astray). Ask yourself, "Am I hindering God’s promise to me or my family in any way?" Believe Matthew 5:17-18 - Do not think that I [Jesus] have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Believe: God kept his promise to Abram. He sent his Son, Jesus, to fulfill the promise. All nations of the earth are blessed through Jesus. Surrender Hebrews 10:22-23 - Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Surrender: God’s faithfulness should move us to respond. We are called to draw near and hold onto the hope of eternity with him. God kept his promise to Abram. He will certainly keep his promise to us. John 14:1-3
