2 Corinthians 1:3-4 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. Do you realize that God is called the "Father of compassion and the God of ALL comfort"? He is your true source of comfort. Friends and food bring only fleeting comfort. But, the Father knows how to bring the deep soul satisfaction that we need. An important part of quiet time is learning to receive comfort from God. This begins with acknowledging our need before him. When you are feeling fine, you still need his comfort. Acknowledge this before him. If you wait until you are deep in trouble to cry out for comfort, you will be running on empty.
