You are standing on holy ground. Time to take your shoes off? Keep Reading...
Worship Take a moment to speak out your words of love and thanksgiving to God. Read Exodus 3:1-6 - Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight–why the bush does not burn up.” When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. Reflect God comes to us in a most common way to remind us that he is most the most uncommon. He is set apart. He is holy. Think of the goodness of God in attracting us to himself, drawing us close by his voice and imagery that we would understand. Yet, he wants to be clear. He is not an artifact or a relic. God calls us to worship him - the holy God, the One completely removed from sin and impurity. The only appropriate position before this holy God is complete humility. He calls us to come before him, confessing all known sin. 1 John 1:9 We can easily slip into treating God as a common person, or even a lifeless picture on the wall. Take time right now to humble yourself before the holy God who is with you. Confess any known sin and spend time worshipping this One who draws you close. If there are moments in your life when you feel it is a blurry one, please do know that God is just testing the water. You don't have to lose hope, especially your faith towards God because that doesn't mean anything. It's just sad to see that there are people whose faith aren't as concrete as it should be. While I am trying to understand their point that they are not strong enough for situations like this, they have to learn it because that is for their own good too! Life us tough, but a life with God wouldn't feel that hard!
