Give Thanks in ALL Circumstances

​1 Thessalonians 5:18 - Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Really? Give thanks in ALL circumstances? Is that a bit extreme? It's possible to read words like these and quickly pass by. We shrug off what we see as impossible. But remember, these are not just wise words from an ancient canon. They are God's living and active words. When he speaks, he means what he says.

And when God gives us a command, he means that we can do it. Thanksgiving in good situations is quite easy. But, when the pressure is on, the struggle to obey begins. Too often, thanksgiving is seen as a feeling that wells up from deep within. When life is good, the thanksgiving rises. But, when pain enters in, complaint typically arises. If we don't feel the thanksgiving, we think we can't give the thanksgiving.

But, if God commands it, you can do it. God is a good Father that always gives you a task that is possible to accomplish. It all begins with your mouth. It will take practice, but you can learn to speak out thanksgiving before the complaint flows. Make the choice to obey. Great blessing will come from this.
