Who am I? What's my purpose... my value? These common questions can only be answered in one place. Keep Reading...
Pray Dear Lord Jesus, please speak to me through your Word. Help me to see You more clearly, so that I can understand my identity in You. Thank you. In Your name, Jesus, Amen. Read Exodus 3:9-11 - And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Reflect This is the first recorded account of an interaction between God and Moses. God calls Moses to a seemingly impossible mission. And Moses immediately looks to himself for power to complete the task. He questions his ability to have any effect. Moses asks, "Who am I…?" He actually doesn’t know who he is and what he is capable of because he doesn’t know who God is yet. In the following verses, Moses asks God what his name is. He wants God to identify himself. God responds by telling Moses that he is the "I Am." You can never find your true identity by looking within yourself. You will never know your real abilities or calling by taking another gift test. Your identity gets defined and secured by your heavenly Father. When you know who He is, only then can you know who you are. Moses didn’t have to be strong enough. He only needed to know that his God exists and cares for his people. That is enough. Your calling, purpose and power for living come solely on the basis of God's life and love for you. Because He is, you are. He gives you definition. Look at him. Listen to him. He gives you power and purpose for life. Read More Psalms 139:15-16 - My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
