The Holy Spirit longs to pour out his power in your work place and school, your playground and your pulpit. Keep Reading...
READ Exodus 31:2-5 - See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts– to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship. REFLECT You've probably seen the power of God moving at church. But have you seen his power on the construction site? You look for him to reveal miracles in the prayer service, but how about in the office? The ancient Greeks gave us the split world. They said that the "spiritual" is good, and the "physical" is bad. Since then, much of western civilization has followed suit. This includes the church world. The experience of God is often relegated to quiet times and church times. The rest of our lives, our "physical" worlds of work, play, friendships and family life, do not seem completely related to God. This sacred / secular split has left us expecting God to move in our spiritual lives, but not so much in our physical lives. The truth is - God sees us as whole beings. He loves our emotions, our spirits, our bodies and minds. That's why he tells us to love him with our body, soul, mind and spirit. Deuteronomy 6:5 With God there is no divide between Sunday and Monday, between our work, church, quiet time and play time. He is Lord over all. This is why he fills the construction worker and interior designer with his Spirit of creativity. They need God just as much as the pastor needs him on a Sunday. Sure, the project manager could rely on his own wisdom, just like the preacher could. But true craftmanship of a building or a sermon requires the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. RESPOND Cry out for an infilling of the Holy Spirit as you do your house work today. Ask for the Spirit of wisdom to come on you for your business meeting. Before you begin painting, invite the Holy Spirit to anoint you with his power for maximum creativity.
