Battles for holiness are won and lost in the mind. To look and act like Jesus requires purity of mind. How do you fight these battles? Are you constantly beating back the bad thoughts? Or is there something more you could do? Keep Reading...
Scripture Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. Meditation Erasing wrong thoughts is not the ultimate way toward purity of mind. You are called to fill your mind with that which is pure, lovely and praiseworthy. When your mind is constantly being filled with light, darkness just has to leave. What happens when you hold a dirty cup under a running tap of water? The constant in-flow of clean water has a way of washing the cup. Your focus should be on filling your mind with the pure and lovely. This will bring a washing and renewing to your mind. What are the pure and lovely things that you could think about? The beauty of God. His beauty is incredibly attractive. Find his beauty in Scripture. Read about his beautiful works and compelling character. Look for the beauty of God in creation. And acknowledge him for it. Admire God's excellence in those around you. When you affirm God's work in another person, you are filling yourself with purity. "Think about" the goodness of God in prayer. Thanksgiving keeps your mind on the excellent and praiseworthy. When you are thanking God, it is very difficult for thoughts of criticism, apathy or lust to remain. Intentionally fill your mind with what is good and right. This is the pathway to walking in deep fellowship with God. Application What are you thankful for today? Set your mind on the good gifts God has provided for you. Spend at least 3 minutes focusing on gratefulness for his goodness.

No matter how wasted our environment could be, never lose the chance to surround yourself with beautiful thougts. Keeping yourself pure is also a protection for yourself. The goodness might be hard to achieved, but it's always possible to keep the purity in you. It all depends in how you handle your life and your decisions. It is a big factor for you to keep everything aligned. In this world we live in, please always choose to be good.
