To guard yourself against pride, take the following prescription. Repeat daily.

James 4:6 NIV - "That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

MESSAGE: Be humble.

Psalm 131:1-2 NIV - "My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me."

MESSAGE: Walk like a child.

PRAY
Dear Father, I want to run away from pride. Please forgive me when I move in pride, especially in this relationship (________________) or in this situation (________________). I want to be fully exposed to your light. I will not hide myself from you or those around me. Jesus, you are the most humble person. I want to be like you. Thank you for your forgiveness and mercy. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Wait on God for a practical act of service that you do for someone. Make sure that only you and God know about it. This practice of serving in secret will develop humility in your life.
