Pray
Dear Father, please reveal Yourself to me. I want to see You and myself more clearly. Thank you for being faithful to speak to me. I trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Read
Luke 18:18-30
Ask
Reflect
Whenever we rely on our own goodness for security, we will end up separated from Jesus and deeply insecure. It is our pride, which is a false front of security, that keeps us walking in fragility. There can be no real confidence or security when we have not humbled ourselves before the Great I Am. Humility leads to security.
Meditate
1 Peter 5:6-7 - Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Apply
Luke 18:18-30
Ask
- What did the rich ruler cover up his insecurity with?
- How do we know that the rich ruler left Jesus’ presence still deeply insecure?

Apply
- Ask Jesus to search you and reveal any manifestations of pride in your life. If any specifics come to mind, acknowledge them before God. Repent of pride. Commit to walking in humility before God.
- Apply Philippians 2:3-4 - Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Find out what someone else is interested in and do it with them today. This is a practical move of humility. Jesus loves this.
