Where is your gaze fixed? What consumes your mind? This will indicate your level of joy. Keep Reading...
1 Peter 1:8-9 NIV - Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Those who fix their eyes on the unseen are people of faith. Although they have not seen Jesus with their physical eyes, they love him. They believe that real life is found in a love relationship with Jesus.
This love relationship with Jesus requires communication, worship and prayer. All of these actions connect with the unseen realm. When we operate in this realm - specifically using our physical bodies to connect with God spiritually through worship and prayer - we are them filled with joy.
The joy that comes through loving Jesus is described as inexpressible. This means that physical language cannot accurately capture the deep joy that you can experience. It is the joy of knowing you are saved, knowing you are loved.
Don't allow the small joys in life distract you from the joy of your salvation. Activate this joy through pouring out your love to Jesus. He in turn will fill you with glorious joy.
