The Power of Prayer, Ephesians 1:15-23

Picture
Do you ever stumble over your words when you are praying for family or friends? How can we pray with power? Keep Reading…

Listen to Ephesians 1 below and let God's Word soak into you.

Read
Ephesians 1:15-23 NIV - For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Meditate
Do you ever wonder how to pray for your family, friends or others that burden your heart? Follow this example set in Scripture. First, give thanks for the one on your heart. Think of many ways in which you are grateful for this person. Then, ask that the Spirit would be poured out on that person, so that he/she would know God better. Also, pray that your friend's heart would be opened up to experience the hope and power of the risen Jesus. It is actually through prayer that we will experience God in new and rich ways.

Question
Who is someone that God is calling you to pray for?

Apply
Use the steps above in prayer for that person right now.
  1. Give thanks.
  2. Pray for the Spirit to be poured out with revelation to know God better.
  3. Pray for an open heart to experience the hope and power of Jesus.
