The Grief of God

Picture
God feels deeply over your choices. You have the ability to grieve or gladden Him. Keep Reading...

Worship
Psalms 19:14 - May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Worship: Oh Lord, I want to be pleasing to you today. In the places that no one can see but You, I want my thoughts and motives to please You.

Remember
Genesis 6:5-8 - The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth–men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air–for I am grieved that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Remember: God grieves over the rebellion of his creation. He notices all of our thoughts and motives. He is pained over our sin. Righteousness makes God glad.

Believe
John 12:37-40 - Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet:

“Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: “He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn–and I would heal them.”

Believe: Acknowledge Jesus and his miracles in your life, whether great or small. Refuse to walk in unbelief.

Surrender
2 Peter 3:10-11 - But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives.

Surrender: There should be an urgency to our holiness. The end is coming. The Day of the Lord approaches.
