Do you want information from God, an answer to your question? Or do you want Him? How can you wait for him when you feel the pressure of needing clarity or direction? Read more...
Psalms 130:5 - I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
Often, during a season of waiting, you are lacking clarity, or you need more information. Where do you go for that clarity? The typical approach is to talk to lots of people, talk to yourself, pray, talk to more people, talk to yourself, pray, etc. You search for clarity, but it doesn't come easily.
Sometimes, the waiting times clarify where you are putting your hope. It's possible you want an answer more than you want Him. The Bible often speaks about waiting for the Lord. It's important that you are waiting on the person of Jesus more than waiting on the gift that comes from him.
It is actually in the person of Jesus that all clarity is found. Healing and breakthrough are found in him. Answers and wisdom come from him. The question should be changed from "What are you waiting for?" to "Who are you waiting for?"
Even when you know you should wait on Jesus, you can find the process of waiting difficult. Where do you focus your mind and prayers? Direction comes from Psalm 130:5 - put your hope in his word. It is the Word of God that enables us to keep waiting on Jesus. Fill your eyes and mind with his words. Meditate on his promises. Bathe in his character and ways. Hope will begin to flood your spirit as you wait.
Wait for Jesus. Hope comes through hearing his voice. Remember, he has already spoken so much to you. Allow the Word of God to wash over you again.
