What or who quenches your thirst? Take a moment to read the Scriptures on desiring God. Keep Reading...
Play the audio file below and take a couple minutes to begin speaking out the name of Jesus. Tell him that you desire to know him... that you love him.
Psalm 42:1-2 NLT - As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?
The truth is... we have many desires. Often God is just one of our desires. Where do you go for satisfaction... to quench your thirst? Your friends, food, alone time? The more we drink something, the more we thirst for it. Perhaps we are not as thirsty for God, because we do not "drink him in" very often.
The competition is on for who will take the top spot of desire in our lives. Will you give God that highest place?
Ask God what he is saying to you about your own thirst? Do you desire him, or do you have many competing desires? Be quiet for a moment after you ask him this question.
Ask God to make you more thirsty to hear his voice and know his presence. Tell him that you desire to be changed by him.
Now ask God who you can pray for... perhaps a family member? A friend? Someone who doesn't yet thirst for God? Take a few minutes to intercede on behalf of that person or situation.
