What does your Father feel toward you? Can you trust him? Keep Reading...
Psalm 103:13 NIV - "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him."
You have probably heard the line, "God loves you." It is a line so often repeated that sometimes it has a hollow ring in our ears. We have come to expect that God would love us, almost that he has to love us. But do we know our Father of compassion?
In light of our rebellion and stubborn self-will, we have a Father who is "slow to anger and abounding in love." (Psa. 103:8) His love is not an assumed one. No, the love of the Father is a very intentional choice to persevere with us in spite of our failings.
The Father never condones our sin. Instead he feels our frailty (compassion) and makes a choice for our highest good (love). The Father walks in our shoes and understands the pressure we feel. He did this through Jesus.
You can run to your Father for comfort and grace. You are guaranteed to be received out of his intentional compassion (Heb. 4:15-16).
You do not serve an unfeeling God. No, he is one who has compassion on you, remembering your frailty and providing a way for your wholeness. In his compassion for you, the Father made the greatest sacrifice for you - the death of his Son, Jesus. You can trust him today.
