Your Father God desires to come close... so close that he would wrestle with a man. Keep Reading...
Genesis 32:24 NIV - "So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak."
Jacob was fearing for his life. It was very likely that his estranged brother, Esau, would be out to get him… maybe even kill him. Jacob spent the day making preparations to meet his brother. How would the meeting turn out? Jacob cried out to his Father God for help.
And his Father answered him. He came to wrestle with Jacob. An interesting answer indeed! In fact, they wrestled all night together. The Father wrestled with Jacob and let him win.
The Bible says that Jacob wouldn't let this "man" (God) go until he received a blessing. God allowed Jacob to persist in his wrestling. God the Father strengthened Jacob's resolve, his spiritual muscle, in calling out for blessing and intimacy with his Father. After all, it was his Father that Jacob really needed.
Your Father God stoops to interact with you. He comes close to feel your breathe and hear your voice. He allows you to push against him with your frustration and your longings. He sticks with you. He wants to hear your voice call out for a blessing. He wants to see you draw close for an intimate encounter.
Your Father is waiting for a wrestle with you.
