Fears can plague our minds. They can cripple and paralyze us. The private struggle against inner terror can leave us numb. All the while we try to manage our fears with brave smiles and hearty laughs. But we know the truth. Something is wrong.
When we were children, certain fears seemed normal. One would think that we would outgrow our fears. Yet, childhood fears often morph into adult fears.
What is at the root of these fears? A lack of experiential knowledge of the love of the Father. It is the Father's love that puts our fears to rest. It is our Father that delivers us from our fears.
It is normal to get frightened. But it is not God's desire that we live in fear. Knowing his love is the only pathway out.
Don't try to beat your fears into submission. Pursue the Father's love. Ask for an intimate encounter with his love. Spend time in his presence. Meditate on the truth of his unconditional love for you.
