Romans 8:1 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Do you live with condemnation in your life... like it's a really bad, best friend? Keep Reading...
Romans 8:33-34 - Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns?
In the earlier chapters of Romans, Paul lays out a very reasoned foundation for our salvation. For we find out that our greatest need is to be made right with God (be made righteous). All have sinned. Romans 3:23 So, it is not by our good efforts that we are made right with God. Even the best attempts at obeying God's law are not good enough. It is rather through the death of Jesus, his once-and-for-all sacrifice, that we have been given the opportunity of being joined to Jesus. We can be made right with God.
As we enter into this saving relationship with God through faith in Jesus, we are declared righteous, holy and pure. But we have an enemy that would love nothing more than to shove our own dirt and filth into our faces. When Jesus says we are forgiven, the devil rejects that status. When Jesus says that we are not condemned, the devil questions his truth.
Whose voice will you listen to? Given your past sins, you might feel condemned. But, will you align yourself with God's truth that says, "There is no condemnation for you, because you are in Christ Jesus,"?
How do you handle sins that you commit today? The devil hangs the heavy weight of condemnation around your neck. This weight is called shame and hopelessness. It a burden of ever-increasing darkness. But, Jesus says, "Confess your sin. Remember that I am faithful and just to forgive you." 1 John 1:9
Jesus convicts, never condemns. He brings hope with his conviction. Don't let the enemy bring charges against you anymore. Listen only to the voice of Jesus.
