James 1:2 NIV - "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds." Keep Reading...
It's one thing to find joy in sunny days and holidays. It's another thing to find joy in trials. And is it possible to find pure joy in all sorts of trials that you face?
Is there something inherently good about trials? No. Trials are hard and draining. Some bring severe pain and loss. What could be so good about that?
It's not the trial that brings joy. But you can bring joy to the trial. Why? Because even in terrible circumstances, God can produce something so beautiful called faith.
His intention is to build your faith in an ongoing way, because he desires your completion. God is able that use even the most awful circumstances - that come as a result of the fall - for our benefit. So whether in good times or bad, God is working everything together for our good (Romans 8:28).
Now that is a reason to choose joy in every circumstance. In fact, consider it pure joy, because God is completing the good work he started in you.
