1 John 4:18 - There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Insecurity begins in the mind and affects our whole system. Our physical body, emotions and spirit are impacted by the pervading influence of insecurity. But, where does insecurity come from?
Fear. It is not the sudden fright that brings long-term insecurity. It is the dwelling with fear on a day-to-day basis that impacts our whole person. The fear of rejection, fear of the future, fear of man, fear of failure, fear of loss, and the fear of disaster are only a small list. For different reasons, certain fears can lodge themselves within our minds and bring a paralyzing effect to our lives.
It is understandable when we are frightened by certain situations. Our reaction of fear in many instances is a good and healthy thing. However, the choice to live in fear is not what God wants for us. The choice to live in fear is the choice to live in unbelief… unbelief that God is big enough and caring enough to protect us.
Sometimes our fears become like a really bad, best friend. We know that it is not good for us. But, we think we have a measure of control over our lives when we hold onto fear. This is wrong. The choice to turn away from God in unbelief will only lead to further bondage.
The beginning of your fears may have come from traumatic experiences. God does not fault you for this. He wants to restore and deliver you. His perfect love will drive out your fears.
Will you allow his love to secure your mind, body, emotions and spirit?
Take a moment to ask God if there are any areas that you do not believe he is trustworthy… where you have chosen fear rather than faith in his protection. If he shows you any unbelief residing in your life, turn from the unbelief through repentance. This clears the platform for your deliverance from fear.
Now, begin speaking out the truth of the Father's perfect love. Tell him you want greater revelation of his care and protection. Choose to step forward in faith.
