Psalms 46:10- “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Do you ever feel driven… like life is moving forward, and you’re just holding on? You can’t stop the momentum, and you might be losing your grip.
Work life, family situations, ministry - all have the potential to drive us. How does that happen? When fear begins to drive our life, and love takes a back seat - that’s when we feel driven.
Fear is a harsh task master. When we fear failure in work or relationships, we begin striving and living under pressure. When we fear loss of finance or fruit in ministry, we allow ourselves to be driven. We can begin with the motivation of God’s love, but then move into slavery to fear.
God has a better way. Psalm 46 begins with these words, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear….” It is understandable that fear would come knocking on our door. But we don’t have to answer the door. We can run into our safe place. Because God is always present to help us, we do not have to fear.
Speak to your soul, “Be still and remember that He is God.” Don’t try to be God. The driven person tries to be God, and it never works. Your personal strength will not save you. But your decision to run to God for refuge will.
Don’t be driven by fear any longer. Give God the wheel.
